Dr. Schwartz focuses on being sure his students understand the course content and are able to implement the knowledge they gain in this class. This course is designed to prepare Licensed Dental Assistants to incorporate the administration of local anesthesia into their dental practice.
Days 1 and 2: 8-Hours Live each day at the Courtyard by Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota
Learning Objectives:

Properly assess the patient for a local anesthetic. (Thorough Health history, Evaluation, and Consents)

Review the anatomy of the skull, facial soft tissues, bony landmarks, foramina, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, and salivary glands.

Select and assemble the proper armamentaria for performing intraoral local anesthesia.

Select the proper topical, local anesthetics and know the proper dosages for performing intraoral local anesthesia.

Learn techniques to anesthetize maxillary and mandibular intraoral structures and soft tissues with local anesthesia.

Recognize and treat possible complications for patients anesthetized with an intraoral local anesthetic.

Manikin and Partner Practice
All you will need to comply with Minnesota Board of Dentistry LDA rules.
